A tourist had an epic struggle to land a huge fish from his boat.

The holidaymaker was on a day trip with Finnish pensioner Jari Laakonen who runs a fishing business with his Thai wife in Chonburi, Thailand.

Footage taken on February 26 shows how one of the group snagged a beast, which turned out to be a powerful 30lbs cobia fish.

The Finnish man said that the fish had appeared in the water moments before taking the bait. He said: "This cobia came near the boat and disappeared several times before it ate our bait. It was so strong that it took two people to catch it."
