Maharashtra assembly elections: know the political equation of Mahim seat
The Mahim assembly seat falls under the South Central Lok Sabha seat of Mumbai. South Central District is considered a Congress stronghold. But despite being a Congress stronghold, the Shiv Sena has a significant influence on the Mahim assembly seat in this district. In 2009, this stronghold of Shiv Sena was taken away by MNS. However, in the 2014 assembly elections, Shiv Sena again wrested this seat from MNS.

महीम विधानसभा सीट मुंबई की दक्षिण मध्य लोकसभा सीट के अंतर्गत आती है। दक्षिण मध्य जिला कांग्रेस का गढ़ माना जाता है। मगर कांग्रेस का गढ़ होने के बावजूद इस जिले की माहिम विधानसभा सीट पर शिवसेना का खासा प्रभाव रहा है. शिव सेना के इस गढ़ को 2009 में एमएनएस ने छीन लिया था। हालांकि 2014 के विधानसभा चुनाव में शिवसेना ने एमएनएस से ये सीट फिर छीन ली।
