The Shiv Sena has been dominating the BJP alliance on the Aurangabad West seat. In 2004, when the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance won the seat of victory on this seat, in 2014, when the Shiv Sena and the BJP fought separately, the fight took place between the Shiv Sena-BJP here. However, before 2004, in 1999 and 1995, this seat was occupied by Congress.

औरंगाबाद वेस्‍ट सीट पर शिवसेना बीजेपी गठबंधन का दबदबा रहा है. 2004 में बीजेपी-शिवसेना गठबंधन ने इस सीट पर जीत का परचम लहराया तो वहीं 2014 में शिवसेना और बीजेपी जब अलग-अलग लड़ी तो यहां लड़ाई शिवसेना-बीजेपी के बीच ही हुई. हालांकि 2004 से पहले 1999 और 1995 में इस सीट पर कांग्रेस का कब्जा रहा.
