Hanoi bans selfie-seeking tourists ahead of crackdown on railway cafes
  • 5 years ago
Hanoi authorities started banning tourists from a popular railway lined with bars and cafes on October 10, 2019, after a train had to make an emergency stop to avoid hitting visitors accused of taking too many risks in pursuit of “perfect selfies”.  Citing safety concerns, officials in the Vietnamese capital have set an October 12 deadline for the closure of dozens of cafes and shops that have gradually been built too close to the railway.
