Tyler Perry to Offer Housing to
Displaced Women and LGBTQ Youth.
In a recent interview on ‘This Morning,’
Perry shared what his new Atlanta
movie studio complex will offer.
Perry said the step he was “most excited about” is the
creation of housing for displaced women and LGBTQ youth.
Pulling this next phase off is building
a compound for trafficked women, girls,
homeless women, LGBTQ youth who
are put out or displaced …, Tyler Perry, via ‘This Morning’.
He also plans to offer an array
of programs to the women, designed
to assist them in “re-enter[ing] society.” .
Having a compound that's a beautiful place right
here, somewhere on this 330 acres where they're
trained in the business and they become self-
sufficient .. They can live in nice apartments,
there's daycare, all of these wonderful things
that allows them to re-enter society ... , Tyler Perry, via ‘This Morning’.
The 50-year-old filmmaker was reportedly
inspired to help because of his own past
experiences with homelessness. .
Atlanta has truly been the promised land
for me. I came here with nothing, lived off
Sylvan Road, ended up homeless and starving,
but I was always praying and believing, Tyler Perry, via Facebook
