Patriotic films bring in record-breaking US$700 million box office during China's National Day week

Three films that paid tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China grossed a total of nearly 5 billion yuan (US$700 million) over the seven-day National Day holiday. The box office earnings broke the previous record of 2.65 billion yuan (US$371 million) set during ‘golden week’ in 2017.
