New Studio in Atlanta.
Tyler Perry Studios has
12 sound stages named
after iconic Black performers.
The 330-acre studio moved from its
previous location to Fort McPherson,
a former confederate Army base.
Think about the poetic justice in that. The Confederate Army is fighting to keep Negroes enslaved in America, fighting, strategy, planning on this very ground. And now this very ground is owned by me. , Tyler Perry, via ‘CBS This Morning’.
Many stars attended the gala event celebrating the studio's opening including Oprah, Halle Berry, Ava DuVernay and Spike Lee.
