Remove ‘Following’ Tab In a statement to BuzzFeed News, Instagram confirmed
the removal of the “following” tab this week for all users. Housed underneath the heart icon in
the app, the following tab allowed users
to see other user's activity on Instagram. According to Instagram’s head of product,
Vishal Shah, many users didn’t even know it existed. Vishal Shah, via BuzzFeed News Shah also said that “simplicity was the
driving factor” in their decision to remove it. Now, users will only be able to view activity
directly relating to their accounts, such as new
followers, comments and likes on posts.
