The history of Aarey colony, which has come to the limelight due to the tree harvesting controversy, is quite interesting .. The first Prime Minister of the country, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru has a special relationship with this colony. Actually the foundation of Aarey Colony was laid by former PM Jawaharlal Nehru. And Pandit Nehru also planted the first plant here.
