Melinda Gates Announces
$1 Billion Gender Equality Project.
Gates, the wife of Microsoft co-founder
Bill Gates, made the announcement
in a piece for 'Time.'.
I want to see more women in the position to make decisions, control resources, and shape policies and perspectives. , Melinda Gates, via 'Time' Magazine.
I believe that women’s potential is worth investing in and the people and organizations working to improve women’s lives are, too, Melinda Gates, via 'Time' Magazine.
Gates explains that the $1 billion pledge
will go towards companies centered
on empowering women.
The funds will be circulated through
her own banner, Pivotal Ventures.
In many working areas, Gates says that
she will help channel money into
gender inequality research.
She adds that there will be assistance for women in media, technology and
political working careers.
I hope the financial commitment I’m making today is seen as both a vote of confidence in the experts and advocates who are already working on these issues ― and an invitation for others to join the cause and make commitments of
their own, Melinda Gates, via 'Time' Magazine
