The asteroid known as 2019 SL7, which will soar past Earth on October 9, has piqued the interest of NASA. At 21 metres wide, the space rock is just short of being twice the size of a double decker bus, which is 11.1 metres. Asteroid 2019 SL7 is racking up an astonishing speed of 17.1 kilometres per second – or a staggering 61,500 kilometres per hour.
