This is the terrifying moment a loose tyre from a truck smashed into a woman's car wrecking the bonnet.

The school teacher, Napha Kaewmanee, 55, was driving home on Wednesday (October 2nd) evening when a ten-wheel lorry in the lane opposite toppled over.

Dashcam footage shows the large black tyre come bouncing towards her white Honda City.

Luckily, the wheel hit the bonnet and bounced over the car roof - missing the glass windscreen by inches.

Shaken Napha said after the crash that she did not have time to react after seeing the wheel come clattering towards her car.

She said: ''I'm a teacher and had finished lessons. I was driving home when this big tire hit my car. I was shocked and screamed. It came from nowhere and smashed into my car.''

The driver of the truck that the wheel came from, Nai Somsak, 56, said he heard loud noises and felt shaking before the vehicle fell onto its side.

Several empty gas canisters were spilled from the back and rolled across the road. Nobody was injured in the crash.

Somsak said: ''There were about 20 empty gas cylinders in the car and I was driving to the filling station. I suddenly heard loud noises from the right rear wheel and it caused the truck to shake vigorously.

''I tried to steady the truck but I couldn't stop it from falling over. I saw the wheel go flying onto the other side of the road.''

Police arrived on the scene and said that both drivers could settle the incident with their insurance companies.
