Welcome back zappers, Im Devin Curry with http://Shazap.com. Your online video source for comic book news and reviews. Follow me on Twitter at http://twitter.com/devincurry. Spiderman is back to where he should be. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still not completely OK with the Brand New day and the effects that it had on Spidey’s powers and life, but the book is at least fun and exciting and a Spidey book again. Hammer Head is just scary good and I love what they’ve done with the character. We’ve got another new writer in Joe Kelly, and while his books lack some of the humor that the previous books have had it is still true to the character and an enjoyable read. Looking back on this thrice monthly spidey I’ve had a few thoughts. First off, we’re not really getting more Spidey than we used to, it just happens to be telling the same story. I mean there have always been multiple Spiderman titles and we would generally end up getting them three times a month. Before, there was Amazing, Friendly Neighborhood, and Marvel Nights, and even Spectacular. This gave us three solid Spiderman different, but solid stories to follow or not depending on what you choose. Now, there are even more story lines up in the air, completely disjointed and by changing writers the book doesn’t have any consistency. While it’s on an upswing I’ve got to wonder how long it’ll last. In this case, 6 does not equal one half dozen, but hey it’s good now so enjoy it while you can. Distributed by Tubemogul.
