దేశవ్యాప్తంగా అన్ని రాష్ట్రాల్లోనూ హిందీని జాతీయ భాషగా అమలు చేయాలంటూ కేంద్ర హోం శాఖ మంత్రి అమిత్ షా చేసిన ప్రకటన సంచలనం రేపుతుండగా..ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోడీ ప్రాంతీయ భాషల గొప్పతనాన్ని వివరించే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తున్నారు. తన అమెరికా పర్యటన సందర్భంగా హ్యూస్టన్ లో నిర్వహించిన హౌడీ మోడీ కార్యక్రమంలో ఎనిమిది భాషల్లో మాట్లాడారాయన. తాను తమిళంలో మాట్లాడిన సమయంలో వేలాది మంది తనను అదే భాషలో పలకరించారని చెప్పుకొచ్చారు. హౌడీ మోడీ కార్యక్రమంలో మిగిలిన అన్ని భాషల కంటే తమిళం ఎక్కువగా వినిపించిందని, సభలో మారుమోగిపోయిందని అన్నారు.
