S Sreesanth was imprisoned in Tihar jail for nearly a month in 2013, along with the other two Rajasthan Royals players, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing. Sreesanth said there were times when he broke down after spot fixing allegations. I would break down for no reason. I used to get seizures for 6-7 weeks. I couldn't sleep as in Tihar they had that bulb that they wouldn't switch off," Sreesanth said.

हाल ही में इंडियन एक्सप्रेस से श्रीसंत ने बातचीत की है. और उन्होंने कई राज से पर्दा उठाया है. जो अब तक क्रिकेट फैंस को पता नहीं था. श्रीसंत ने कहा है कि वह सुसाइड करने का मन बना चुके थे. गौरतलब है कि फिक्सिंग के आरोपों के दौरान श्रीसंत 26 दिनों तक तिहाड़ जेल में रहे थे. जेल से बाहर होने के बाद वह लंबे समय तक डिप्रेशन में थे. उन्होंने कहा , 'मैं जब जेल से बाहर आया तो अगले छह महीने तक डिप्रेशन में था. मैं रात भर सो नहीं पाता था. मैं बिना बात के रो पड़ता था. उस दौरान चार-पांच बार मेरे मन में आत्महत्या करने का ख्याल आया, लेकिन मैंने खुद को रोक लिया.'
