Plant-Based Fast Food May Taste Great, But It's Not Necessarily Good For You
  • vor 5 Jahren
Plant-based versions of classic menu items are taking over fast food. Items range from Burger King's Impossible Whopper to Subway's Beyond Meatball Marinara sub. But companies like Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods aren't trying to produce healthier foods. According to Business Insider, the dishes are nutritionally similar to the classics they're named after. The Classic Whopper has 660 calories, 11 grams of saturated fat, and 980 milligrams of sodium. The Impossible Whopper has 630 calories; 12 grams of saturated fat, and a whopping 1,240 milligrams of sodium. Right now, the main focus is simply on swapping meat for plants — and it's paying off.
