A West Coast Mainline train is seen travelling at a severely reduced speed through floodwaters between Lancaster and Preston in North West England on Sunday.

The train was captured on video creeping through the submerged tracks to prevent derailing.

The train's destination was London Euston via Birmingham New Street Station.

National Rail have put out a warning stating:

"Heavy rain has flooded the railway between Preston and Lancaster resulting in disruption to trains.

"Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

"Disruption is expected until 14:30".
