Tea Bags Release Billions of Microplastics Into Brew
  • vor 5 Jahren
A recent study suggests that plastic tea bags shed micro- and nano-sized particles into your brewed beverage. The possible health effects of ingesting these itty bitty pieces remains unknown. Over time, plastic breaks down into tiny microplastics and nanoplastics less than 100 nanometers in size. They’re puny enough to sneak into our bodies undetected through the food we eat, or even the air we breath. A person’s average microplastic consumption is somewhere between 70,000 and 121,000 particles per year.
