ఉత్తరాన్న హిమాలయాలతో మొదలుకుని.. దక్షిణాన్న సముద్రంతో ముగిసే ఈ దేశంలో వింతలు విశేషాలకు కొదవ లేదు. ముఖ్యంగా దక్షిణ భారత దేశంలో రెండు సముద్రాల మధ్య నిర్మానుష్యంగా కనిపించే ఈ గ్రామం గురించి తెలిస్తే.. ఆశ్చర్యమే కాదు, అయ్యో పాపం అని బాధపడతారు కూడా. ఎందుకంటే.. ఇండియాలోనే చిట్టచివరి గ్రామమైన ఈ ప్రాంత చరిత్ర విషాదంతో ముడిపడి ఉంది.ధనుష్కోడి.. దేశంలోనే చిట్టిచివరి గ్రామం ఇది. ఇండియా, శ్రీలంకను కలిపే రామ సేతు లేదా ఆడమ్స్ బ్రిడ్జ్‌ ఈ గ్రామంలోనే ఉంది. దనుష్కోడికి చేరాలంటే 2016 వరకు సముద్రంలోనే ప్రయాణం చేయాల్సి వచ్చేది. పర్యాటకులు, జాలర్లు సముద్రం ఆటుపోటులు చూసుకుని బస్సుల్లో, జీపుల్లో చేరుకొనేవారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో ప్రభుత్వం ఇటీవల రోడ్డు మార్గాన్ని అందుబాటులోకి తెచ్చింది.
