Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam held her first community dialogue in Wan Chai on September 26. She announced that a controversial detention centre in San Uk Ling will not be used to hold protesters in future. Meanwhile, many of the speakers called for an independent inquiry into police use of force. Lam admitted that it is one of the ways of finding out the truth, but people should give the Independent Police Complaints Council a chance to do their job first.
