‘Fleabag’ Wins Outstanding Comedy
Series at 2019 Emmy Awards
The show had a strong showing
at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards. In total, ‘Fleabag’ took home four awards,
including outstanding lead actress, best director for
a comedy series and best writing for a comedy series. The series beat out ‘Veep’, ’The Marvelous
Ms. Maisel,’ ‘Barry,’ ‘The Good Place,’
‘Russian Doll’ and ‘Schitt’s Creek.' ‘Veep’ previously won outstanding comedy series
in 2015, 2016 and 2017, while ‘The Marvelous
Ms. Maisel’ previously won in 2018. The comedy-drama series was created,
written and starred Phoebe Waller-Bridge,
who is also an executive producer on 'Killing Eve.' 'Killing Eve' received a total of six nominations,
with Jodie Comer winning outstanding lead
actress in a drama series for her role on the show.
