U.S. President Donald Trump once again touted his great relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un,... calling it the best thing that has recently happened for his country.

President Donald Trump says his budding friendship with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is the "best thing" that has happened to the U.S. during his time in office.
This is what Trump told reporters during a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison,... adding that North Korea has "tremendous potential",... which the regime's leader is also aware of.
"But, our country has been playing around for 50 years and getting nothing. And we have a relationship. There's never been a relationship with them."
While Trump remained unsure whether future dialogue between Washington and Pyeongyang will be successful,... he reiterated the fact that there hasn't been any nuclear testing by the North.
He again downplayed North Korea's recent missile tests, saying that many other countries also launch short-range missiles on a regular basis.
On the same day, South Korea's nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon met with U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun... to discuss the resumption of working-level talks with the North.
Lee said the North is continuing to signal its interest... and that he and Biegun discussed how to make further progress.
"I've been to Russia and China as well, and we talked about how Beijing and Moscow evaluate the current situation, and how we can, together with Tokyo, make collective efforts toward North Korea's denuclearization."
North Korea on Friday released a statement, welcoming President Trump's recent remarks suggesting a 'new method' to get denuclearization talks back on track.
It also confirmed Kim Myong-gil, the North's former ambassador to Vietnam, as its new chief envoy to spearhead nuclear negotiations with Biegun.
Biegun has agreed to meet again with his South Korean counterpart Lee at the UN General Assembly,... and possibly hold three-way talks with Japan's top nuclear envoy as well.
