Walmart Announces
End to E-Cigarette Sales.
In an internal memo circulated on Sept. 20,
Walmart announced their decision to no longer
sell e-cigarettes at their U.S. locations.
Their decision is reportedly not because of recent medical
concerns but because of growing “regulatory complexity.”.
Given the growing federal, state and local
regulatory complexity and uncertainty regarding
e-cigarettes, we plan to discontinue the sale of
electronic nicotine delivery products, Walmart, via CNBC.
The retail company plans to continue selling devices until
they’ve exhausted their current inventory of e-cigarettes. .
Their decision is being met with
criticism from the American Vaping
Association, as the retail giant
will continue to sell regular cigarettes. .
You know you are in the middle of a moral panic
when big corporations like Walmart find it is
easier to sell deadly combustible tobacco products
than to sell harm reduction alternatives. , American Vaping Association President
Gregory Conley, via statement.
