Dozens Turn up to 'Storm Area 51' Reports say about 75-100 people
gathered early Friday morning at
the government base. The original Facebook event started as
a joke, but quickly morphed into
a phenomenon. At one point, over two million people committed to "storm Area 51 to see aliens." Portland, Oregon resident Nathan Brown,
to 'The Las Vegas Review-Journal' Festivals near the facility in Nevada were created to accommodate visitors. According to 'The Guardian,'
over 1,500 people attended
these previous events. Las Vegas sociologist Michael Ian Borer,
via 'The Guardian' 'The Guardian' adds that the
government did not arrest anyone
who showed up to the gate. Local sheriffs say its because the
land around Area 51 leading up
to its entrance is public.
