Man dressed as mummy wanted for Friday the 13th bank robbery

HOUSTON — Authorities are on the lookout for a spooky Texas bank robber that's been nicknamed the "Mummy Marauder."

Friday the 13th has long been considered the most unlucky date on the calendar, when cursed things seem to pop out — including one Houston criminal who had the bright idea to rob a bank in costume.

According to an FBI release, the suspect, identified only as a 5 foot 11 black man in his early 20s, had wrapped white gauze around his face and body, before donning a wig, cap, and glasses.

The Mummy Marauder then sauntered into a First Convenience Bank in Harris County, where he threatened a teller while demanding cash.

He managed to get his hands on an undisclosed amount of money, and was last seen jumping into a black Mitsubishi Montero SUV.

The FBI is now asking the public for any leads so they can nab the Mummy Marauder and keep him wrapped up behind bars.

Crime Stoppers in Houston is also offering a $5,000 reward for any information that can lead to an arrest.
