A barber in southern India has come up with a very "lit" way to boost his client base, by setting customers' hair on fire instead of trimming their hair with scissors.

The Pitaco Barber Shop, in Thiruvottiyur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu state, offers the bizarre style treatment, as barber Karthick covers his customers' heads with flammable powder and liquids before setting them on fire with a lighter, seen here on Monday (September 16).

He then uses two different combs to style the hair while it is still alight.

Karthick says the technique is not dangerous, and that it has boosted his store's popularity on social media, with customers appearing round the clock to be set ablaze by the fiery stylist.
