'Storm Area 51' Creator
Cancels Event.
Organizer Matty Roberts claims the cancellation is due to a dispute with
the owner of the festival's setting.
A statement on the 'AlienStock'
festival website says it didn't
want to be "FyreFest 2.0.".
The event was originally set for
Sept. 20 in Rachel, Nevada.
Due to the lack of infrastructure, poor planning, risk management and blatant disregard for the safety of the expected 10,000+ AlienStock attendees, we decided to pull the
plug on the festival, Alienstockfestival.com, via statement.
Instead of 'AlienStock,' there
will now be a party at the
Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.
The 'Area 51 Party' will be
held Sept. 19 at 8 PM.
Roberts, a 21-year-old California native,
originally started the Facebook event,
"Storm Area 51 – They Can’t Stop All of Us.".
Millions went on to RSVP, prompting
the U.S. government to issue a warning
about approaching the area
