Two unsuspecting goats ended up spending a day in the police station, for allegedly attempting to satiate their hunger with saplings planted under Haritha Haram. The incident occurred in Huzurabad municipality. For a few days now, the voluntary organisation Save the Trees had been making repeated complaints with the police that a few goats were eat the wild almond tree saplings they had planted. It was the organisation representatives themselves that finally zeroed in on the culprits on Tuesday, caught hold of them and handed them over to the police.

హరిత హారంలో భాగంగా నాటిన చెట్లను ఎన్ని జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకున్న రోడ్డుమీద వెళ్లే మేకలు మేశాయి. దీంతో వాటిని పోలీసులు అరెస్ట్ చేశారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలోనే కరీంనగర్ జిల్లా హుజురాబాద్‌కు చెందిన ఓ ఎన్జీవో ఆర్గనైజేషన్ నగరంలో సమారు 900 మొక్కలను నాటింది. నాటిన మొక్కల్లో 250 మొక్కల వరకు మేకలు తిన్నాయి. మేకల యజమానికి ఎన్నిసార్లు చెప్పిన పట్టించుకోకపోవడంతో చివరికి వాటిపై కేసు నమోదు చేశారు. మంగళవారం కూడ రోడ్డుపై మొక్కలు తింటుండంతో వాటిని తీసుకువచ్చి పోలీస్ స్టేషన్‌‌లో అప్పగించారు.కాగా వాటి యజమాని అయిన దోర్నకొండ రాజయ్య నుండి ఫైన్ వసూలు చేయాలని ఫిర్యాదులో పేర్కోన్నారు.
