Rubbish driving: Garbage truck driver in northern England goes rogue, knocking over trash and swerving wildly on residential street
  • 5 years ago
A home CCTV camera caught a truly awful attempt at trash collection in West Yorkshire, England, today (September 11), as the truck knocked over bins and swerved around a small residential street.

According to the resident, who owns the CCTV, this type of wild driving had not happened before. He commented: "Not sure this is how the council should empty bins."

The collection route is managed by the Kirklees council, which services much of the Huddersfield and West Yorkshire area.

Cllr Rob Walker, Cabinet Member for Culture and Environment, said: “As soon as we were made aware of this video we took immediate action. We contacted the residents involved, apologised to them and are replacing their bins.

“We are taking this very seriously and are conducting an investigation to establish why this happened and will take action accordingly. The driver in question will not be driving for the council whilst the investigation takes place.

“We expect the highest standards from all of our employees so our residents receive the best quality services.”
