Japanese farmers use airguns against crop-raiding monkeys

A group of some 30 farmers in the city of Kiso in central Japan have armed themselves with airguns to fend off raids by monkeys who eat their crops.  The farmers said that after loud noises failed to discourage the marauding monkeys, they turned to non-lethal airgun pellets to provide enough sting to protect their plantations.
