Antonio Brown Lands With
Patriots After Raiders Release .
The wide receiver signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots less than a day after being cut from the Oakland Raiders.
Since his trade from the Steelers in
early 2019, Brown's stay in Oakland
was littered with controversy.
They came to a head after he
reportedly threatened to punch
Mike Mayock, the Raiders general manager.
Eventually, he begged the organization to release him
in a social media post.
Release me @raiders #NOMore #theyputblindersonahorseforareason #NoMoreFake, Antonio Brown, via Instagram.
His $50 million contract with the Raiders has now been declared void.
We just exhausted everything. We tried every way possible to make it work. All I'm going to say is, it's disappointing, Jon Gruden, Raiders head coach, via Fox News.
Brown can now earn up to $15 million
from his new contract with the Patriots.
He is expected to suit up for his first game with the Patriots on Sept. 15
