Hurricane Dorian: Elderly injured survivors evacuated from Bahamas airport

Survivors on the hurricane-hit Bahamas have been evacuated as helicopter aid arrived yesterday (September 5).

Footage shows injured residents at Treasure City Airport waiting to be evacuated, including an elderly man from Abaco with a leg injury being assisted by volunteers to a plane operated by Bahamas Air.

In the distance, an aid helicopter lands to evacuate hurricane survivors from Treasure Cay Abaco. In the foreground, a damaged truck sits atop a downed fence and electric poles.

After hurricane Dorian ravaged the islands of Abaco survivors are waiting to be evacuated to Nassau at the Treasure Cay Airport.

Drone footage also shows damage to properties near the airport.

Footage captured from a plane flying from Nassau to Treasure Cay Airport in Abaco at 5:30 pm on Thursday shows an oil slick in the ocean.
