Bong jokes about rats in his cell: lawyer

MANILA - The lawyer of Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. said the senator is not complaining about the rats inside his cell at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center. Atty. Salvador Panelo said the senator is actually making jokes about the pests in his cell. "Never have I heard him complain. Instead of complaining nga, he is watering the concrete para lumamig. Yun mga rats, natatawa pa nga. Daming daga dito...Ito, uncle ko ito," he said. He also confirmed that it is very hot inside the cell. "It is a statement of fact. No one is complaining lalo na si Senator Revilla...Tinatanggap niya kung ano ang abutan niya run." Panelo said he is bothered that some people are complaining about the special treatment allegedly given to detained senators. He said prisoners are treated to subhuman conditions "kaya yung tratong tama ang tingin niyo special treatment." ANC, June 25, 2014
