ASEAN leaders meet in Myanmar

MANILA, Philippines – Territorial disputes in the South China Sea, or what Manila calls the West Philippine Sea, are a key focus in the ASEAN Summit in Myanmar. President Aquino has said he will raise the matter when he meets with his fellow ASEAN leaders today. The Philippines has been pushing for a code of conduct in the South China Sea. It has also taken the row with China to an international tribunal. Meanwhile, ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh, who is Vietnamese, says the rising tensions between Vietnam and China add urgency to the issue. -- News Now, ANC, May 11, 2014.
