1,000 sacks of rice block C-5 tunnel

MANILA – An estimated 1,000 sacks of rice blocked a portion of C-5-Libis Tunnel in Katipunan area after the truck carrying them fell on its side. Truck driver Jomer Velasco said mechanical trouble caused the vehicle to lose control and fall on its side at around 11 p.m. Velasco's passenger, Bayani Alberto, was wounded in the accident. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) managed to remove the truck and sacks of rice on the road after five hours. – report from Kori Quintos, ABS-CBN News
