Heartwarming moment rescuers save stray dogs stranded in floods from tropical storm in Thailand

The heartwarming moment is captured when rescue workers in Thailand save three stray dogs stranded in a floods from a tropical storm on Tuesday (September 3).

The pooches were left behind when locals fled submerged homes following heavy rains from Storm Podul hit the north of Thailand last weekend.

Workers found the dogs starving and trembling while standing the roof of a submerged house surrounded by water.

Footage taken on Tuesday (September 3) afternoon in Roi Et province shows a group of rescuer volunteers sailing a boat after collecting the animals that were left behind during earlier evacuations.

The president of Mettatham rescuer team Kengkart Bunkawong who filmed the video said that the team are welcome to help every living creature that was in danger.

He said: "We will stand by to help the people evacuate their belongings and also their pets, the stray dog, cat, or even cows are welcome as well."

Storm Podul killed at least six people after hitting Thailand last Friday (30/08) causing widespread flooding across several provinces.

Locals are now bracing themselves for Tropical Storm Kajigi which is expected to bring more rain.
