Fire hits residential area in Marikina

MANILA – A fire hit a residential area in Marikina City before dawn on Tuesday. The fire erupted at a residential area along Euro Street in Urban Bliss, Barangay Barangka at around 2 a.m. The fire razed at least 15 homes and was declared out at 3:10 a.m. The fire was allegedly triggered by a toppled lit candle inside the house of a certain Nelzon Gondeza. Supt. Marcos Valen, Marikina City fire marshal, said Gondeza's house had no power supply for three years already. The cost of damage from the fire was estimated at P100,000.
