Singapore president brings medical aid to Yolanda-hit Basey

MANILA, Philippines – Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam turned over medical aid for survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda. Tan, who was in the country for a state visit, toured the Yolanda-hit Basey town in Western Samar last Saturday. Singapore has pledged about P36-million for the rehabilitation of Basey’s district hospital. On Friday, Tan also donated seven million Singaporean dollars, or about P250-M, for typhoon survivors. -- News Now, ANC, April 6, 2014.
