Moody's: Bangsamoro peace deal is credit positive for PH
  • 5 years ago
Moody's calls the signing of the Bangsamoro peace deal a "credit positive" for the Philippines. Moody's says although many deals with Muslim separatists have fallen through over the past decades, the latest agreement has a better chance of success, given its more favorable terms, including greater fiscal autonomy for the Bangsamoro. "Not all Muslim separatist groups are happy with the arrangement, but the greater stability that it will bring will likely encourage investment in the region and provide scope for the development of more profitable industries, such as mining and agribusiness," it added.
