2 NBI deputy chiefs removed due to 'integrity issues'
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima admitted that she recommended the removal of NBI Deputy Directors Reynaldo Esmeralda and Ruel Lasala from their posts, saying the two have lingering integrity issues. She said Esmeralda and Lasala serve at the pleasure of the President, and the President is not compelled to state any reason in removing appointees. Esmeralda and Lasala, meanwhile, are studying their legal options after they were relieved from the bureau.
