Abaya- MRT-3 expansion to proceed

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is proceeding with the plan to add more than 30 rail cars to the MRT-3, after the Makati regional trial court dismissed a petition for a temporary restraining order against it. Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said it has given the go-ahead to the Chinese company that won the bidding. The company in turn agreed to start delivering the first rail cars in around 12 months, and complete delivery in another 12 months. ANC Dateline Philippines, February 25, 2014
