DepEd mulling flexible hours for schools
The Department of Education (DepEd) is looking into adopting flexible hours for schools to help ease the traffic congestion while the Skyway 3 project is underway. Speaking to ANC on Tuesday, DepEd Assistant Secretary Tonisito Umali explained that under flexi-hours, classes can start at 9 or 10 in the morning instead of 6 to 7 a.m. The flexi-hour consideration is on top of proposals for a 4-day school week. The DepEd said around 20 schools could be covered by the 4-day school week. ANC Dateline Philippines, February 25, 2014
