Fire hits Maharlika Village; 2 dead

MANILA – Two people died and about 100 families were rendered homeless after a fire hit a residential area in Maharlika Village in Taguig on Tuesday evening. The fire began at 9:20 p.m. and was declared out at 11:10 p.m. It reached the Task Force Alpha, which means that all available fire trucks in Metro Manila are required to respond. At least 72 homes were razed. Some 100 families affected by the fire are now temporarily staying at the Maharlika Village Trade Center. - Umagang Kay Ganda, 19 February 2014
