PNoy names Iriberri as new Army chief

MANILA - President Benigno Aquino III has named Major General Hernando Iriberri to head the 80,000-strong Philippine Army. Iriberri succeeds Lt. Gen. Noel Coballes. At this morning's turnover, the new Army chief vowed to continue modernizing the Army's facilities and giving better benefits for soldiers. The President also praised Coballes for his contributions in improving the Philippine Army and hopes that the new Army chief will capitalize on this momentum.
