LTFRB in hot water over road accidents

MANILA - Malacañang has defended the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board following the Bontoc bus accident and other mishaps involving public buses. Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma said the LTFRB is doing all it can to monitor and inspect all public buses across the country. He admitted that it will take time given the huge number of units. Coloma also said the labor department also continues to implement occupational safety and health measures and are in good physical and mental condition when they take the wheel. He said the President still has full trust and confidence in LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez. He said accidents cannot be predicted. What is important is agencies enforce rules and regulations fully.
