In Japan, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe put on a Red Sox shirt and tossed a baseball with Boston Red Sox closer Koji Uehara and relief pitcher Junichi Tazawa. The Japanese Major League duo’s sensational performances in the World Series last October impressed Bostonians and Japanese home fans alike. The Red Sox mascot, Wally the Green Monster, also presented the Japanese premier with a Red Sox shirt and the number 13, for the year the Red Sox won the World Series. -- Mornings @ ANC, January 22, 2014.
