MANILA, Philippines – Former world tennis No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki had an early exit at the Australian Open, bowing down to Spain’s Garbine Muguruza. The 20-year-old Muguruza took out Wozniacki in three sets as she converted all four of her break points to reach the fourth round of the tournament. Meanwhile, second seed Victoria Azarenka easily defeated Yvonne Meusberger to stay on course for her chase of a third Australian Open title. Azarenka has not lost a set in her three matches this week, extending her winning streak at Melbourne Park to 17 matches. Maria Sharapova also advanced to the next round after beating Alice Corney. Third-seeded Sharapova controlled most parts of the match and only needed 32 minutes to take the first set as she won 6-1, 7-6. News Now, ANC, January 19, 2014
