Relief workers overwhelmed by extent of 'Yolanda' devastation

MANILA, Philippines – The death toll from Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) stands at 5,235 more than two weeks after the typhoon battered the Visayas. That number is feared to go up further as more than 1,600 are still missing. Meanwhile, the cost of damage to infrastructure has reached nearly P12-billion, while the damage to agriculture is pegged at P10.7-B.
