MANILA, Philippines – A British Air Force plane carrying medical supplies and rescue equipment for typhoon survivors is now in the country. The C-17 aircraft, loaded with diggers, land rovers and pallets containing medicines, was welcomed by British Ambassador to the Philippines Asif Ahmad and a senior Filipino military commander. Ahmad said the new batch of equipment is needed to help clear roads and allow food and medical supplies to get where they are needed. British Prime Minster David Cameron also pledged 30-million pounds more, or around $48 million, at a meeting of commonwealth leaders in Sri Lanka. News Now, ANC, November 17, 2013
