Volume of relief goods to be doubled- Almendras

Secretary to the Cabinet Rene Almendras said the volume of food and other goods to be sent to calamity areas will now be doubled. That's amid reports many typhoon victims in the Visayas have yet to be reached by food packs and other basic supplies. Almendras emphasized the distribution system must be done correctly. He said government agencies must identify which particular items are urgently needed by residents in specific areas. Today, national government is moving 10,000 food packs to areas hit by the super typhoon. Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. also highlighted the need for the relief operations to move faster. He said although many government personnel are already on the ground, the task of reaching all the typhoon survivors is enormous. ANC Dateline Philippines, November 13, 2013
